Name: Nancy Carole Hagan

Childhood: Born October 26, 1945 in Miami, OK.  I spent the first 10 years of my childhood there until my family and I moved to Neosho, MO where I attended public schools. I graduated from Neosho High School in 1963.

Education:

• Oklahoma Baptist University: BME (Bachelor in Music Education) in 1967
• Drury University – Springfield, MO: Masters Degree in Education in 1977

Career: Teacher of vocal music

• 1967 - Oklahoma: Shawnee, Owasso in Tulsa, and Miami Public Schools
• 1972 - Seneca, MO
• 1975 - Springfield, MO: 31 years in the R-12 School District
  (Westport, McGregor, Pershing, Cherokee and Carver)
• 2006 – retired after 38 rewarding years in music education

Family: On August 26, 1966, I married Jim Hagan. He is a teacher of physical education and taught in Springfield Public Schools until he retired in 2005. Jim taught at Kickapoo, Horace Mann, and Carver Schools. He coached freshman and J. V. basketball and football at Kickapoo, and coached football, basketball and track at Carver. Jim and I have been blessed with two children:

• Jill Ann Patton Davis, 37, attended Disney, Cherokee, Kickapoo and
  is a graduate of Drury University. She is married to Kent Davis.
  They live in Nixa, MO and have four children: John is 13,
  Kory is 10, Laura is 6, and Liz is 4.
• Cori Leigh Dinwiddie, 36, attended Disney, Cherokee, Kickapoo
  and is a graduate of St. John’s School of Nursing. She is married
  to Scott Dinwiddie. They live in Ozark, MO and have 2 children:
  Tyeler is 10 and Jacob is 6.

Affiliations:

• Music educator professional organizations: MMEA, MCDA, and SAI
• SNEA: Vice-President, 4 years
• MNEA: State Board, 4 years; lobbied for public education
• Member of South Haven Baptist Church and The Upper Chamber Singers  

Honors: Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers, Nominated for Disney Hand Award

Hobbies: Gardening, travel, fitness, and  family (especially grandchildren)!
